Rimmel Apocalips are here!

In the past year, the two most talked-about products from Rimmel have been--without a doubt--the impossible to find in stores Scandal'Eyes Kohl Eyeliner in Nude and Apocalips lip lacquers.

The Apocalips line has been a HUGE hit in the UK, and I probably average at least two questions a week from readers wondering if I know if/when these lip lacquers will hit the US. Well if you haven't heard, they HAVE landed in the US, only they're called something else...

Well I spent serious cash the other day at CVS and here's what I got:

My final price for this humongous haul? 

Seven cents.

More new products from Maybelline (with sneak-peek photos!)

We've got pics of the new Color Tattoo Pure Pigments, folks! Today on Instagram, Maybelline shared this sneak peek. And Total Beauty posted a sneak-peek on their Instagram here as well here (wow, look at that blue!). And literally, right as I was writing this post, reader Sarah Nelson left a comment on the blog saying that Maybelline posted an update on Twitter today confirming that these are LOOSE powder pigments, and that they'll hit stores next month (June). Thanks so much for that info, Sarah!

• In this photo posted by @victoriachan88 on Twitter, you can see a shot of the Fit Me Shine-Free Gel Stick Foundations I first posted about here (these were mentioned in this month's Seventeen Magazine). A huge thanks to reader @makeupbybrandi on Twitter for the heads-up about this photo!

• In the lower right-hand corner of this photo, there's something new called Master Smoky (I don't know anything about this yet--this info is once again from reader @makeupbybrandi)!

• Also in this photo, you can see the new The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara (this is a dual-end mascara with one end for upper lashes and one end for lower lashes), which Janine from Beauty Geeks posted about here (thanks again to @makeupbybrandi for the tip on that!). And of course the Color Tattoo Pure Pigments are in that photo as well, in addition to the Limited Edition Polka Dots and Holographic (duochrome) Color Show Nail Color Collections that I blogged about last week. 

• Speaking of the Limited Edition Polka Dots and Holographic Color Show Collections, Total Beauty posted a pic of some of the shades that will be in the US versions here (big thanks to Jamie @ruralbeauty for that tip!). I'm getting some conflicting info about the US release date on those collections--I've heard it's either going to be June or July, so keeps your eyes open for them in a few weeks!

Whew! I think that about covers it for now. If I failed to thank anyone for any of the information in this post, I am sincerely sorry and I did not do it intentionally. I was out of commission for a few days and I'm super behind on reading tweets, comments, etc. so I did my best to piece everything together.

Just a few items I wanted to mention since I've been away for a few days:

• I'm starting to feel like myself again and boy have I missed you! I just updated the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale Master List post with lots and lots of new additions, all thanks to YOU (thanks so much for continuing to leave comments on that post while was under the weather!).

The Lipstick League – week of 5.13.13

I know that I usually post the Lipstick League round-up on Sundays but, as most of you know, I got food poisoning on Sunday and today, Tuesday, I'm just now starting to feel like myself again. So apologies for the delay and thanks for your patience as I play catch-up this week!

Tell us about a funny makeup/beauty mistake you have made…or care to admit to? 

G's answer: Oh boy, my most embarrassing beauty mistake is probably the two large caterpillars that were growing right above my eyeballs for most of the 80s and earlier 90s. I still cringe when I look at pics of myself from that era. Oh, and let's not forget the oh-so-popular Spiral Perm of the early 90s. I rocked my spiral perm and dark brown lipstick like no other, I tell you!

Important update

I'm writing this from my phone so apologies if it looks strange. I just wanted to let you all know that there won't be a weekly drugstore sales post today and I won't be able to update the CVS clearance master list because I've managed to get myself a nasty case of food poisoning.  It hit me a few hours after breakfast and the worst part of it has definitely passed, thank goodness. But if you've ever had food poisoning before,  your know it's a 24-48 hr affair,  so...yay!

I just approved about 45 new comments; most were left on the master list post,  so if you're planning on shopping the CVS Clearance sale, definitely read though all of the comments left AFTER my last comment yesterday (those are the comments that will contain info not yet added to the master list).
